On the Publish > Calendar page you will find the following options:
The content calendar
In the content calender you will find schedualed posts and events.
t's easy to locate a post in your content calendar. Use the right filters, and you'll find the post in no time. In this article, you will learn about the filters you can apply.
- Filters: In the content calendar, you can filter by the following categories:
- Post Status: Includes scheduled, in workflow, published (on platform), and failed.
- Account: Includes all linked social accounts available for your role.
- Tag: Includes all publishing tags.
- Post Owner: Includes all users of the environment.
- Platform: Includes the platforms Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
If you click on a message that has already been posted in the calendar, you will see two options. With 'view content' you open the message. With 'Remove from platform' you can remove the message from the page on which the message was posted.
If you click on a message that has been scheduled in the calendar, you will see some more options:
- Change times: With the 'change times' button you can adjust the times at which you have scheduled the message. You can do this directly in the same widget.
- Publish now: The 'publish now' button gives you the option to publish a scheduled message immediately. The message then moves in the calendar from the scheduled time to the new publication time. Please note: when you click on this button, the message is published immediately.
- Edit: The 'edit' button gives you the option to edit a scheduled message. After editing the message, click on the 'update and schedule' button.
- Delete: The 'delete' button gives you the option to delete the message and thus cancel the scheduling.
Platform synchronisation
By clicking on this button, you can load content from your owned/connected accounts that you haven't published via Spotler Engage. The button can retrieve content from up to 2 months back in time. This way, you always have a comprehensive overview of all posts on your social channels, regardless of whether you published the post through OBI4wan or directly on the platform itself. Statistics for content loaded through synchronization will only start counting from that moment. Therefore, you cannot retrospectively retrieve statistics for these messages.
Please note! Unfortunately, it is not possible to retrospectively synchronize stories posted outside Engage via platform synchronization. This is because stories disappear after 24 hours and are not saved. Unfortunately, this cannot be changed. We recommend using the Publishing module and posting stories there.
Create a post
Step 1: Open the Publish module and click on the yellow button located at the top right, which says Create post. A new window will open.
Step 2: Click on 'Add an account or group' at the top left and select the desired account. It is possible to select multiple accounts simultaneously.
Note: Each social media channel has its own specifications for uploading files under the publish module. Click here for an overview of these specifications.
Step 3: Type your message and add links and images or emoji's.
Step 4: Check the message on the right side of the screen. Are you satisfied? Then, at the bottom right of the message window, click on 'Select action' and choose one of the four options:
Publish Now:
Your message will be immediately posted on the platform(s) you have selected.
Note: Avoid duplicate posts and click the 'Publish Now' button only once.
Schedule:
A new window will open, allowing you to schedule your post for a later time. Select a date (or dates if you want to post your message multiple times) and time, then click 'Save' to confirm.
In case you want to post your message on multiple accounts but on different dates and times, it's not a problem. After choosing a date and time, click on 'Account View' and select the accounts you want to post on your desired date, then click 'Save'.
NOTE: Scheduled posts are linked to the content agent. If a content agent is removed from the environment in the future, the scheduled posts will not be published either.
Save as Draft:
If you are unsure when you want to post your message, select the 'Save as Draft' option, and your message will be saved under the 'Drafts' section.
The messages saved as drafts can be found on the left side of your environment.
Put in Workflow:
If you want a colleague to review your message, choose the 'Put in Workflow' option, and your colleague will receive a notification.
If you haven't set up a workflow yet, click here to learn how to do it and understand the benefits of this option.
Step 5: If you want to reuse the message in the future, select the option 'Automatically add this message to the content library after it is published,' and your message will be saved in your content library.
The content library can be found on the left side of your environment.
Step 6: After following all the above steps and being completely satisfied with your message, click on the blue button at the bottom right of the message window to finalize the action.

The message "The metadata of this media cannot be verified; the publication may fail when sending to the platform" is a general warning (yellow) and does not mean that your publication will fail.
Your publication might fail because we are unable to verify the metadata. These metadata are often hidden in the JPG file and are not visible when you view the image. However, this doesn’t mean that your publication will immediately fail. Our software just can't check if this metadata is correct.
