With filters in the Media Monitor in Engage, you can refine your search results without using operators. You can use filters in the dashboard, in a report and in an alert. This way, you get to see the messages that are relevant to you faster.
You apply a filter on top of your search query. Your search query itself does not change, but you only see the results that match the filter. Filters are available in three places: in the dashboard, in a report and in an alert.

Using filters in the dashboard
On the Dashboard page, you can find the filters on the left side. Select a filter to apply it on top of your search query. If you use multiple dashboards, the filter applies to all your dashboards.
Using filters in a report
In a report, you can add filters at two levels:
- At report level: the filter applies to all widgets in the report.
- At chart level: the filter only applies to the chart you add it to.
Please note
A filter at chart level overrides the filters at report level for that chart. With filters at chart level, you can for example compare charts with each other and create more in depth analyses.
Using filters in an alert
When you create an alert or newsletter, one of the steps asks whether you want to add filters. This way, you can for example limit the results to messages in Dutch or to a specific source type.
