Labels

This article explains how to use labels to organise and analyse messages in Media Monitor.

Add labels directly to messages

You can add or remove labels directly from individual messages in Media Monitor. This is available in the most-used views, such as Dashboard postings, Report postings, the message view and the posting modal.

To label a message directly, click Add label below the post and select the label you want to apply. This allows you to group and filter messages without creating a task.

Create and manage labels

Before adding labels to messages, you first need to create a label.

Go to Label overview in the left menu, click Create a new label, and give your label a name.

Note: You can nest labels under other labels, with a maximum of three levels (for example: main label, sub-label and sub-sub-label).

Tip 💡 Do you also use Webcare?

Do you use Webcare alongside Media Monitor? Read the article Can I use Webcare tags in Media Monitor? to discover how you can synchronise Webcare tags with Media Monitor labels. This allows you to work with one consistent classification structure across both Webcare and Media Monitor.

Use labels in tasks

Labels can also be used in combination with tasks. This can be useful if you want to review or label messages in a structured way.

After creating a label, you can create a task and specify that messages need to be labelled. Go to the tasks article for more information.

Once the task is created, messages can be labelled within the task. Labeling is possible for tasks with the status Open, In progress or Ongoing.

In the Task overview, you’ll see all created tasks with their current status. Click on a task name to start labeling messages.

In the task view, the total number of messages to be labeled is shown on the left. On the right, messages are displayed for review. At the bottom, click Add label and select the appropriate label.

If a message doesn’t require a label or sentiment, you can mark it as complete. This removes the message from the open task and helps keep your workflow organised.

A green status bar on the left shows the percentage of completed messages. When all messages are labeled, the status changes to All messages are completed.
