It is possible to monitor only the comments on a specific Facebook post. This is useful when there have been many comments, and you want to have all these comments in one view, especially if you plan to report on them separately. Please note that you will only see the comments on the post. If there are comments on these comments (second-level comments), they will not be displayed.
When setting up a search query, you use the "subthread:" operator followed by a portion of the Facebook post's URL.
Step-by-step guide
- Find the Facebook post for which you want to monitor the comments using "Quick Search" and open the post by clicking on "open in webcare."
- The post will open in Webcare, and the URL of the Facebook post will now be displayed in the browser's address bar. Select the last part of the URL in the address bar and copy this part (the numbers before and after the underscore) to paste it into a new search query.
- Create a new search query in which you use the "parentid" operator to search for the Facebook post. In this case, the search query looks like this: subthread:172421869457023_1294494313916434
- Save the search query and link it to a stream so you can start monitoring the comments on the Facebook post. Learn how to create a new stream here.
