You want to exclude a person from your stream because they send annoying or spam messages, for example via WhatsApp. It is possible to exclude this person from the stream so that you won't encounter these messages anymore. Follow the step-by-step guide below to get started.
Requirements
You need access to the Stream settings, the CRM system, and Queries. If you don't have access to these, please contact your administrator. Your administrator has the rights to carry out the following steps.
Step-by-step guide:
- Step 1: Select the person in the stream and navigate to "User Information." Then click on "CRM." If the person is not already in the list, add them first. Then, search for the person in the CRM system and select them to view their user information.
- Step 2: Go to "Groups" to add the person to an existing group or create a new group by clicking on the "+" symbol. You can name the group "spam," for example, and optionally assign it a color. Now, the person is placed in a group. Next, we will modify the search query linked to the stream.
- Step 3: Navigate to the stream and click on "Stream Settings" > "General Settings" > "Search Queries." Select the search query and add "NOT group:spam." Don't forget to save the modified search query! Also, save the stream settings.
Please note: If you have already excluded multiple items in the search query, add them using the "OR" operator (for example: "NOT (word OR group:spam OR word OR word)"
- Step 4: Now you will notice that messages from this person no longer appear in the stream. You can always experiment with your search query using 'Quick Search' before saving it.
Please note: Keep in mind that messages already in the stream will not disappear because they have already been loaded. If you use the search query via 'Quick Search,' you will see that this person is excluded by the "NOT group:spam" operator.
