In Media Monitor, you exclude unwanted messages from your report by first giving them a label through a task and then adding the operator NOT label:"labelname" to your search query. You create the label via Labels and the task via Tasks in the menu on the left. Messages with that label will then disappear from your dashboard and from your report.
A label is a marker you assign to a message in Media Monitor. With the operator label: you search for messages with a specific label. When you combine this operator with NOT, you exclude all messages with that label from the results of your search query, and therefore also from the report based on that search query.
How do I exclude messages with a label?
- Create a search query in your dashboard and click Create report. View the report and adjust the widgets as needed. If you see messages you do not want in your report, continue with the next step. Detailed instructions can be found in the article Report overview and creating a new report.
- In the menu on the left, go to Labels and click Create label. Give the label a unique name and click Create.
- In the menu on the left, go to Tasks and click Create task.
- Set up the task:
- Choose the report you want to apply labels to.
- Give the task a name.
- Apply filters if needed.
- Under task type, select Assign labels to messages.
- Set the percentage to 100%.
- Choose a start and end date, or choose ongoing task if the task should always keep running.
- Choose the recipient who will carry out the task.
- Check the preview, change the settings if necessary and click Create task.
- Open the task you just created. Select the message you want to exclude and click Add label.
- Go back to your search query and add the operator
NOT label:"labelname". Replace labelname with the exact name of your label. - Go back to your dashboard and select the modified search query.
The labeled message has immediately disappeared from your dashboard. It will also no longer be shown in your report.
Do you also use Webcare?
If you use Webcare in addition to Media Monitor, you can synchronize Webcare tags with Media Monitor labels. This way you work with one uniform classification for both modules. Read more about this in the article Can I use Webcare tags in Media Monitor?
