Rapporten Media Monitor

In the media monitor, you use reports to save your previously created search queries and find them again easily. Reports offer many monitoring options, such as sharing, setting up alerts or newsletters, changing layouts to your liking and adding extra charts.

Reports overview layout

When you click on reports in the left menu of the Media Monitor, you end up in the reports overview. The Reports Overview page gives an overview of all existing reports created by users. At the moment, all users can see all reports created by everyone on the same page.

Here you can search for a report by "Name" or "Created by" (the name of the user who created a report). The search starts after one letter.

It is also possible to duplicate reports here. Go to the right side of the menu and use the duplicate button.

Step by step guide: creating a new report

You can create a report from the reports list overview. Click the "Add new report" button and follow steps 1, 2, 3.

Step 1: Give the report a name

This is a required field with a minimum of two characters. Then give the report a description. Both fields appear in the report.

Step 2: Select a search query you have created before

The list works as an automated search field, starting after one letter. Click on the search query to add it, then click outside the "Select search query" field to see the added search query.

Or click the "Create a new search query" button to start one from scratch. After saving, this query is added to the list, so it can be reused for another report.

When you choose to create a new search query, the default color of the search query is Blue. You can change it by clicking the color square. This color represents the color of the search query in the charts, so you can easily identify which data corresponds to which search query in the report.

The "Search query name" field is the name that will appear in the list of search queries when searching for the query in Step 2 - select a search query.

In the "Keywords" field, enter the search query to search for your topic.

If you need help creating a search query, click the link "Need help creating a search query?" and a list of all operators will open to guide you.

Step 3: Create report

Check whether the details are correct. Navigate back to change any information, or click the steps at the top of this screen to go directly to the step you want. When all information is complete, click "Create report". You will then be redirected to the edit mode of the dynamic report, where you can adjust the report analysis and add other information.

Widgets overview

In a report, you can add various widgets (such as charts). You do this by clicking the + icon at the bottom of your report. The following widgets are available:

It is also possible to adjust the data range per widget. To do this, you first need to edit the report. Then go to the widget and click the 3 dots in the top right corner to choose time interval. You can then choose year, month, week, day or hour, 15 minutes or minute.

From this menu you can also delete the widget, or export the data from that specific widget to Excel or CSV.

Overview

Get an overview of the volume of the top three platforms per search query. This lets you quickly see which platforms are most relevant to your search query.

Authors

The goal is to provide an overview per author in ascending order, showing the percentage and total volume of messages from a specific author. This is the author total of all messages related to the search queries and filters used. This can help you identify influential authors within your industry.

Volume

The purpose of this chart is to show the total volume of messages for the given search query and filters used.

You can sort it in ascending/descending order by number of messages (pie chart view only).
You can switch between different chart types: columns, pie, lines.

This allows you to visualize and understand data in different ways.

Reach

See how many people were potentially reached by the messages. This gives you insight into the potential audience for your campaigns and messages.

Topics

Generate topics using the AI Topic Generator. This helps you identify the most important topics and trends within your data.

The AI Topic Generator helps you pinpoint the most important information in no time. Using smart AI, the most important topics are instantly displayed in a handy chart. This way you not only see what is being said about your brand or organization, but also which topics you are associated with, and what the reach of the messages is.

The Topic Generator shows topics that AI associates with the entered search query.

The Topic Generator works using the AI technique Machine Learning. Based on relationships between texts and text structures, we determine whether parts of an article belong together. If enough text within an article shows similarities, it will be grouped into a topic.

Some conditions:

  • The search query volume must be at least 1,000 messages
  • The search query volume can be at most 20,000 messages

Messages

This is the list of all messages resulting from the search query(ies) and filters used. It also shows the sentiment per message and the corresponding platform.

You can click on a message to view its full content. If you click on a link in the message, you will go to the place where this message was posted. This is where you can find detailed information about individual messages.

Sort the widget by 'date: most recent', 'date: oldest' or 'sort by reach: highest'.

Sentiment

The goal is to show whether the sentiment of a message is neutral, positive or negative, in ascending order. This is the sentiment total of all messages related to the search queries and filters used. You can sort it in ascending and descending order by message volume (pie chart view only). This helps you identify the overall mood surrounding your brand or topic.

Tag cloud

Provides an overview of the word cloud related to the search query(ies) and filters used, represented by each search query's color. Words with more hits are displayed larger. Hover over the words to see how many hits they generate.

To visualize information from specific search query(ies), click the legends shown at the bottom of the chart to exclude the legends you do not want to see. When you click, the legend turns grey to indicate which ones are excluded ("disabled") from the view. This is useful for quickly identifying the most common terms in your data.

Search query matching

Combine search queries, for example to compare brands against topics. This lets you perform in depth analyses to understand the relationships between different search queries.

Tiles

Get an overview of the volume of authors, platforms and sentiment. This is useful for a quick overview of the key statistics.

This widget shows a grid of images found in the messages. Images that appear more often in the messages may be displayed larger in the grid.
