Why is my scheduled post not posted?

In Spotler Engage, a scheduled post on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn sometimes fails to publish automatically. This is usually because the connected social media account needs to be reconnected, or because a file does not meet the platform's requirements. This checklist helps you go through step by step to find out what the cause is and how to resolve it.

This page covers the following topics:

Reconnecting an account

It can happen that a social media account appears to be connected correctly, yet posts still cannot be published. As an additional check, you can reconnect the account.

  1. Go to Settings > Accounts and click on Connect account in the top right. Pay close attention to which roles you make the account available for.
  2. Publish the post again after reconnecting the account.

Do not delete the account

Do not delete the social media account if it is not working properly. If you delete the account, you will lose all scheduled and previously posted publications.

Administrator rights required

Make sure you are an administrator of the social media account and that you are logged in to that account before reconnecting it.

Checking the file limit

If publishing still does not work, also check the file limit to be sure. Each platform has its own limits for publishing images and videos. If a file exceeds this limit, the post cannot be published.

  1. Check the file type and file size of the image or video. Refer to the article What are the specifications for posting a message? for the specifications per platform.
  2. Publish the post again.
