Tagging other accounts when publishing is possible for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. To do this, add an "@" symbol followed by the account name in your post, and an automatic menu will appear to select the account.
- For LinkedIn, it is only possible to tag companies.
- For Facebook, it is only possible to tag public pages; it is not possible to tag personal profiles or groups.
- For Twitter, it is possible to tag users, both individuals and companies.
- On Instagram, you can tag both individuals and companies.
For LinkedIn, it's only possible to tag companies; tagging individual people is not allowed according to LinkedIn's rules in third party software, like Spotler Social.
Step 1: Type @companyname and the company will automatically appear in the list.
If you don't see the company immediately, you can also find the company name in the URL of the LinkedIn page. For example: https://www.linkedin.com/company/glasses-cinderella/. Use the company name that comes after "company", such as "glasses-cinderella", to locate the company.
You can also type out the company name without '-', and you will see the company name appear on the screen. Click 'enter' or select the company name.
For Facebook, it's only possible to tag public pages; tagging personal profiles or groups is not possible.
Tagging personal profiles or groups is not allowed as it would violate individual users' privacy. Hence, this feature is restricted to tagging public pages.
If you have tagged a page, you can click on the mention from Spotler Engage to check if you have tagged the correct page. See the 2 red arrows in the screenshot below:
It is possible to tag users, both individuals and companies, on Twitter. Use the user's Twitter handle (username) preceded by "@" in your tweet. For example: "@username". Find the official Twitter accounts of companies and individuals to obtain their usernames.
On Instagram, you can tag both individuals and companies. Use the user's Instagram handle (username) preceded by "@" in your post. For example: "@username".
