Under Settings > Accounts you will find the place where you manage your linked accounts. These are accounts that you link to Engage, such as Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter).
We explain the different parts on this page:
The two buttons at the top right with underlying step-by-step plans:
And the other parts on this page:
Link account
If you click on the link account button you can link the following accounts:
- X (Twitter)
- Facebook (View manual: How do I link my Facebook account?)
- LinkedIn (View manual: How do I link my LinkedIn account?)
- Instragram (View manual: How do I link my Instagram account?)
- Klacht.nl
- Trustpilot
- Youtube (View manual: How do I link my Youtube account?)
- Google My Business (View manual: How do I link my Google my Business account?)
- Live chat (View manual: How do I link a live chat?)
Step 1: Navigate to your name at the top right of OBI Engage to go to the settings. Then click on 'link account' to link a new account.
Step 2: Account details / Rights
At the type of account you select which (social media) account you want to link. Under the heading rights you indicate for which roles the account is available. If you choose 'only available to me', this account is only available to you and other users cannot select the account at Webcare or Publishing. So you can also link private accounts that you only work with yourself.
Step 3: Default Google UTM Encoding
Under the heading 'standard Google UTM encoding' you enter (optional) standard values that you provide when you place a link in a message. With a UTM encoding you can add an extra characteristic to your link so that you can better analyze who clicks on your link. You will find this data in Google Analytics. More information about UTM coding can be found here.
Step 4 Then click the button at the bottom left, for example, 'Link Twitter account' (depending on the account you want to connect) to be subsequently redirected to the page of the relevant social media account.
Step 5 Next steps per social media account:
Twitter (see video for example)
After you click on 'Link Twitter account', a new tab will open. Here you will be given the choice to authorize Enage to grant access to your Twitter account. Click on 'authorize app' and your account is linked to Engage.
Facebook and Instagram
After you click on 'continue with Facebook', a new tab will open. If you have multiple Facebook accounts, you can choose which account you want to link. Click on your desired account and the account will be linked to OBI4wan.
LinkedIn, Youtube and Google
Linking these social media channels works the same as Twitter (see above).
Create broadcast group
Create broadcast groups to publish one message directly to multiple social media accounts. This is useful if a message is often pushed from the same accounts.
Use the blue '+ Broadcast Group' button to create a new group where you group multiple social media accounts.
Once broadcast groups have been created, select these groups when publishing messages.
There is no limit to the number of accounts you can add to a broadcast group.
Global UTM tags
With a UTM coding you can add an extra feature to your link so that you can better analyze who clicks on your link. You can find this data in Google Analytics.
How do the Global UTM tags work?
Custom channel
Click on the edit icon next to Custom Channel, after this you will have the option to add a custom channel. Fill in the following fields:
-
Postsubtype
By default, each post is loaded with a source type of "custom," but you can make the post type unique by entering the value used as the post type here. -
Avatar
The set avatar will be displayed with incoming messages. -
Enable the ability to respond
If checked, you can respond to incoming messages in the webcare module. The response is sent as a webhook to the desired URL. -
URL for incoming messages
This URL is automatically filled in after saving your custom channel. It is used to send messages to Engage. -
Channel ID (ChannelIdentifier)
Necessary in the API call to send messages to OBI Engage. - URL for outgoing messages: If responding is checked, enter the URL where the typed response should be sent.
-
API Key
Enter the API key here for the acceptance/handling of outgoing messages. -
Save outgoing messages
Saving this option is not recommended. Outgoing messages are better entered via the incoming flow. -
Customer accounts
Optionally, add account names that can be used when sending a response.
After saving, use the following API call to load messages:
POST https://custom-channels-251210.appspot.com/_ah/api/customchannels/v1/index?token=xxxxxxxxxxxx*
*The token is generated in step 3 (after saving the channel).
Body:
(Content of the body)
A successful POST will result in a 204 No Content response, and you can later find the message in the environment using the search query from step 3.
Step 5: Any outgoing messages will be received at the provided URL according to the described structure.
The isDraft is always true because you, as a customer, are responsible for delivering the webhook to the recipient.
Fora & weblogs
Linking a forum works slightly differently. If you have entered the user data of a forum, you must pass this on to OBI4wan so that they can establish the connection.
Pay attention! If you change your Twitter password, the link with OBI Engage will remain. If you change the password of Facebook or LinkedIn, the link with OBI Engage will not be maintained. If this is the case, you will need to relink the Facebook or LinkedIn account. You can directly link the account (and therefore do not delete the account first). Then link the account again with the new password. Keep a close eye on which roles the account may be available for.
